As a Fort Myers based photographer, I’m full of location ideas and these are some of my favorite places to take engagement photos. However I always recommend picking based on what you and your partner like to do. So read through my ideas to find one that sparks your interest. If you pick a location you love, the photos will shine with your personality. You could even schedule the session at home or revisit your first date location!
Fees: Parking is $2 per hour, the lot is small so arrive early on busy days!
Pet friendly: No
Nothing says Florida like taking engagement photos at the beach. Bowditch Point Park on the North end of Estero Island is probably the most popular place to take pictures in Fort Myers! Photographers love this beach because it has pretty greenery, rocks, and calm water.

Fees: $8 per vehicle
Pet Friendly: Pets are permitted on trails on a 6 foot leash, not on the beach
Lovers Key is another great place for engagement photos (I mean look at the name). It’s a two mile stretch of fully natural beach, no condos in sight! For a fully off-leash dog friendly beach go just a bit further south to the Bonita Dog Beach Park.
Fees: $2 per hour parking
Pet Friendly: No
Bunche Beach is a hidden gym, another natural beach that’s full of wildlife. It’s also the only beach on the mainland, so you don’t have to deal with any traffic to the islands. Include an adventure in your engagement session by renting kayaks at Bunche Beach.

Fees: $5 per vehicle
Pet Friendly: Yes, on a 6 foot leash
Technically in Estero, this is a popular photo spot if you love greenery! There are some unique spots there, like the white Victorian bridge and the bamboo forest. I also love the dock with the river and oaks behind it!

Fees: None
Pet Friendly: Yes, on a leash
This preserve in North Fort Myers is a fantastic option for those field photos we all love. There are also boardwalks, a wooden fence, and a fern lined path. If you want to see more of the locations, look at this dog session I did here.

Fees: $1 per hour in parking garages
Pet Friendly: Yes, on leash
Downtown Fort Myers offers a lot of variety if you enjoy an urban setting. I think I can find new locations every time I go there!

Technically this location is in Downtown Fort Myers, but it’s such a popular place to take photos so it deserves it’s own spot on the list! The build is made of white Florida limestone that reflects light beautifully and makes it a great location any time of day.

Also in Downtown Fort Myers, the area surrounding the building offers beautiful photos with views of the Caloosahatchee River. You could even head up to the rooftop bar for photos with the best view!
Fees: $1 per hour parking
Pet Friendly: No
Lakes Park has scenic gardens, including a cacti and succulent area, and obviously a huge lake. There is construction here until Summer 2026 but the gardens are untouched! You could rent kayaks or even a swan paddle boat here for unique engagement photos.

Fees: Advance registration is required, see details here
Pet Friendly: No
For a historical location, the Edison and Ford estates are a beautiful spot. Sweeping green lawns, beautifully maintained gardens, and the historical homes in the background. You can bypass the photo registration by staying across the street near the gift shops or on palm tree-lined McGregor Boulevard, however the best spots are inside.
It doesn’t matter where we go, I would be honored to document your engagement and help find the perfect place to take your engagement photos. Visit my contact page to start planning! I can’t wait to hear from you.
