I took these photos back in May, but I didn’t have a website then to showcase them. Now that I do, I’m excited to share them here! As a personal project, I photographed everything (well, almost everything) I ate for a day. I’m always practicing my photography on something! Lunch didn’t make the cut due to styling errors (note to self: red plates are not cute). Dinner was just not something I felt like styling at the time, and sometimes you can’t force creativity. And for the record, I didn’t eat all those cookies they were just so cute and I had a coupon at Target!
I’m a Fort Myers photographer but since my business is pretty new I’m in the “try everything and see what kind of work I like” kind of phase; so I did this self challenge to learn more about food photography and food styling. It’s very important to shoot food in great light so I took these by a big window, the natural light brings out the colors and textures of the food. Getting accurate colors in camera also makes editing a breeze.
If you’re a Fort Myers area food business in need of high-quality photography, I’d love to collaborate. Great photography can do wonders for your brand, capturing the essence of your dishes and enticing potential customers. Contact me today to discuss how we can show your food in the best light!
A more recent photo of a mahogany cake my nephew and I made for my dad’s 65th birthday! I’ve been told my cakes are good enough to start a bakery, but I heard bakers wake up before the dawn and I’m not about that life. I don’t bake as often as I used to, but it is probably my second favorite thing after photography!
